About Nuovo Amore

Lightscapes Photographic Artwork is a premier portrait studio in the metro-Atlanta area specializing in newborn and infant photography. Leveraging its significant experience with infant portraiture, Lightscapes Photography launched Nuovo Amore, Italian for “new love,” in January of 2010 to market a line of hand-crafted props, including a newrborn poser and backdrops  for newborn photography. Nuovo Amore, whose very name evokes the joyous bond of parent to newborn, has designed these props from the ground up to help professional photographers worldwide capture these priceless memories for their clients.

Mary Buck, creator of the newborn poser and owner of Lightscapes Photographic Artwork, photographs newborns everyday at a local hospital. She designed the poser because she was unable to find anything currently available in the market that was suitable exclusively for newborns.

The baby poser helps position the baby’s body, face, and arms so that the most endearing photographs can be captured. Because newborns do not have the coordination or strength to hold themselves upright for extended durations of time, the baby poser is a must-have item for anyone who photographs infants. Utilizing a unique shape, it is composed of a plush yet flexible foam core surrounded by a soft fabric that ensure the baby’s ease and comfort while resting firmly on the poser. The coverings are available in traditional black and white, as well as more contemporary designs where hip meets baby. The covers are quick-drying and machine-washable.

The baby poser features removable inserts of different thicknesses that can be used individually or in combination, allowing for a customizable level of support for each and every baby. Additionally, each insert can accommodate a standard-sized heating pad to maximize the infant’s security and comfort from the warmth which is needed during the newborn phase. The poser is lightweight and portable and perfect for photographers who work on location.

Newborn hats, cocoons and cocoon nests can also be found on the website.

Mary Buck is also sharing her significant knowledge of newborns and infants by providing a tutorial on
"How to Start a First Year Infant Program."
