She started her business like most photographers, because she loved photography; but she knew little about running a business and especially about selling her work. She sought training and worked under the wings of four mentors, including her husband Paul. When she made the switch from proofs to in-person projection selling in 2001, her sales sky-rocketed; but she still had so much to learn. She has spent the last twelve years, studying sales in-depth and how to it relates to selling her work, so she could run a successful and profitable business.
Mary’s husband, Paul, has been in sales for over 20 years. He sells a completely different product than photography, but it doesn’t matter. The methods for selling are the same across all industries. Paul and Mary created a video together called “The Four Stages of Selling,” so you will get the best of both worlds; a sales professional and a working, professional photographer who sells her work every day and practices the same sales techniques that you will hear in the video.

Finally a video is available that not only tells you why you should sell in-person but how to sell in-person. Whether you have a retail studio, a home studio or work completely on location, these methods will work for you. They do not cover pricing or marketing in the video; but you should be very familiar with the cost of sales approach to pricing your work and also be marketing to keep a continuous stream of clients through your door.

The sales video is approximately 45 minutes and is available as a download, so you can watch it over and over. It is priced at just $29.99. Additional one-on-one training is available by Skype.
